About Me

I am a 26-year-old living in London and currently learning how to live my absolute best life whilst still being financially stable… everyone’s dream right? That is the journey I am on and I learn something new every day, so I am documenting and sharing my experience. I want to show you how you can have fun and still have money, at the same time. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

My mission is to help you become financially free. After making a very last minute to decision to go travelling in 2015, with the money I had saved ready for Drama school, it was then that I realised the freedom that money can give you. I want to demystify money and help you all feel empowered by your finances. Talking about all aspects of saving, budgeting, clearing debt, investing (and many more), I am here to help you take control of your money.

Setting financial goals can be great for your overall financial wealth⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it comes to life, we are quick to think about all the things we want to do but all of these things cost money!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Want to go on a holiday? You need money⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Want to start a business? You need an emergency fund and money to get set up⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Want to buy a house? You need a deposit⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You get the picture!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
the options are endless... You can set yourself goals around how much you want to save, how much debt you want to clear, how much you want to invest. And you can also set yourself goals around education and your behaviours to make improvements on the things that might be holding you back⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Usually it is pretty overwhelming at the start of a New Year... everyone goal setting and vision boarding. Last year was a tough one and just because we rolled into the New year, it hasn't just reset (unfortunately). But setting goals can be done whenever you are ready. They don't need to be crazy huge goals... just something that is important and meaningful to you!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So let me know - have you set any financial goals yet?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Oh hey there 👋🏼 seems to be more of you now (which brings me a lot of joy 🥺), and I think it’s about time I re-introduced myself to those of you who are new 😍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My name is Laura, I am a 27y/o Money & Mindset coach living in London 🙋🏼‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On my IG and blog (and soon-to-be-live YouTube channel!), I talk about everything relating to personal finance 💰 budgeting, saving, investing, money mindset - YOU NAME IT! With the aim to help you get financially confident and level up your money game✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I was 19-22 I saved £15,000 and instead of going to Drama school, made a last minute decision to travel Australia and SE Asia with 2 best friends ✈️ I spent every penny (best decision ever) and came home, moved to London, saved £20k and started this IG page!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You will quickly learn that I don’t get embarrassed easily and I love to make people laugh with silly videos and TikTok’s/Reels 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not ashamed to say that most of my money goes on food 🥑 and latte’s ☕️ (and London rent lol)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m the crazy, single, drunk auntie that gets too drunk at family parties, tells fun stories and twerks to WAP even when no one is on the dance floor 💃🏼 and you know what - I’m happy about that!😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s me in a nutshell ~ I would love for you to say hi in the comments 🤍

In a world where everything feels bloody crazy and overwhelming, it can feel too much to think about the difference between where you are right now and where you want to be

We all know how toxic it is constantly seeing people “achieving” on social media (I put the word achieving in quote marks because social media is not real life and we have to remind ourselves of that). We should not be striving for perfection or prioritising our never ending to-do list over our need for rest or self-care... we have to focus on ourselves. Set goals around what we want; not what we think we want because we see others doing it

Sometimes the space between now and where we want to be can be so great it forces us into stagnation, self-doubt and even sabotaging behaviour patterns

What we can do right now is ask ourselves - how can I be 1% better today?

Your 1% could be getting out of bed and brushing your teeth, eating 1 healthy meal, saving £10 instead of spending it, reading one page of a book.... mini achievements throughout your day that might seem so small but these small 1% things can amount to big things in the future

So tell me, what is going to be your 1% better today?

🌟 Happy 2021 🌟⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The start of a new year can be pretty overwhelming and this post is not one to tell you to go right away and make a concrete financial goal for the year (don’t get me wrong I absolutely am a believer in making clear financial goals...) but this is just a post to say “hey look, no matter what financial position you are in now, you do have the power within you to make positive change”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doesn’t mean you need to act on it today if ya not feeling like it or if you are still feeling the effects of the year that was 2020 (ouch in so many ways!) - But it’s just a bit light inspiration to remind you that when you are ready to make changes, you absolutely can do it⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⏰ Your time - you get to choose how you spend your time and you can spend time doing things that make you feel good ☀️ 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🎨 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔮 Your future - you can invest in your own personal development e.g. books, online courses, workshops, education etc. 📚 💡 📝 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰 Your money - you can invest your money with the expectation that you expect will make you a profit over time such as the stocks, bonds, funds, property, gold, crypto 📈 🏠 💸⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The last day of November WOW 😳 I know the expression in my face doesn’t show this, but I can’t believe it

For a lot of us, we would have just had our last pay check before Xmas... the pay check that covers a lot of the Xmas gifts and pays for Xmas meals out (or on this occasion the Xmas take always in...)

AND we’ve all been on a lockdown, spending no where near as much as we might usually spend in the month so you know what this means...

We need to plan our spending for the month of December 💸

The best time to work on your finances is when you get paid and when you create a budget/spending plan for your money, it puts YOU in control 🤩

Sometimes if you know it’s gonna be an expensive month or a busy month you might avoid planning from the start because you think ‘what you don’t know can’t hurt you’ but when it comes to your finances, it is in fact the opposite 💰

Have you worked on your budget for December?

Top tips on how to reduce financial stress⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This can mean something different to everyone - it is not about how much money you do or don't have, it is all about how you feel about your financial situation⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are my top tips: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Identify the stress points - what exactly is it making you feel stressed?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Be honest with yourself - is the tress being caused by your own actions, or is it out of your control? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Make a tangible plan and take small steps - you have to start somewhere, and small daily steps will make up the bigger picture⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Remain positive - mindset is everything! It might seem hard in the middle of a pandemic, but general stress-relieving methods e.g. meditation can help⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ Track your progress - note down all the achievements, no matter how big or small⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6️⃣ Know that there is help available - if you need it, there are some incredible charities such as StepChange that can help⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A well-managed credit card has some incredible benefits and can be great for:
💸Credit score building
🔐 Purchase protection
🛍Tracking your spending

How to use a credit card responsibly:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it comes to getting a credit card, the best thing to do is to really understand HOW to use it so that you can enjoy the benefits⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰 Only spend what you can afford⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💸 Pay back more than the minimum repayment⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⏰ Make sure you always pay on time⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Taking the time to understand and learn these good habits will give you a financial advantage that you can benefit from throughout your life and implement these practices from DAY ONE of having your credit card 💳 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Along side this, practice mindful spending 🧠 Before making purchases on your card ask yourself questions:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Is this worth the money I am about to pay?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Does this take me closer or further away from my goals?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Am I buying this to cope emotionally?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Will I actually use this/do I have anything like this already?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ What are the extra hidden costs?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❗️The more aware you are of your purchases, the ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
better you will be at managing your money and staying in control of your own spending ❗️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you currently follow these practices?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here is a Sunday reminder - If it costs you your peace, then it is too expensive ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is a strong link between money and mental health, and financial stress can really take over and run your life⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ NOTHING is worth it, if it has a negative impact on our health (physically and mentally). The best thing to do is acknowledge it, be aware of what might be causing you stress and then focus on the things that you can control...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟 Remember you are the one in control of your own money so focusing on how you handle it and the financial decisions you make, are key to our financial well-being 🌟⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Take a look at your spending habits - Do they take your closer or further away from your goals?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Assess the long-term commitments you have (or are preparing to take on) - Are they helping your or hindering you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Review your financial goals - Do they light you up with excitement or stress you out?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨When we take some time to evaluate, it gives us the chance to make small but powerful changes to our lives✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨Here is a little reminder that the way you handle your money today, will have an impact on your life in the future✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is hard with everything going on in the world at the moment but the last thing we want to do is just neglect our finances⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why it is great to learn how to favour delayed gratification over instant gratification💭⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🧠 As humans, our brains tend to favour instant gratification - It is the little child within us that wants things now; it wants that rush of dopamine; it certainly does not want the discomfort of waiting for something😖⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to Freudian psychoanalysis, this is known as the pleasure principle⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💡 But delayed gratification means to put off something that would be rewarding in the now, in order to wait for the pleasure that will come with time or more effort further down the line⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
E.g. saving money instead of spending money⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finding the balance between immediate satisfaction and long-term rewards is key 🔑 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How to get through Lockdown 2.0

If there is one thing we can take being in this second lockdown, it’s that we have done it once and we definitely can do it again✨

Lockdowns are hard on us both physically and mentally - whilst we cannot control being in this position, we can do our best to control how we feel about it🧠

🤔Is there anything you said when we left the last lockdown that you wish you had done....
🍳 I wish I learnt how to cook
💰 I wish I had saved more money and didn’t do so many random Amazon orders
📖I wish I spent less time on my phone and more time reading
🍿I wish I watched all the Marvel films in order

Here we are again and we have 4 weeks to do what we wish we had done last time!

But don’t feel pressure to do what others doing; just do what will make YOU feel good ✨

💡Tips on how to be financially stable - PART TWO

Here is a 5 step breakdown on what it means to “live within your means”

The key thing to managing your money is learning how to spend less than what you earn💰

There are so many factors that can make this a hard task:

❌ Bills and expenses not all coming out at the same time = more likely to spend money that is sat in your account

❌ Getting paid weekly or fortnightly but having monthly bills - that can feel overwhelming

❌ Emotional spending triggers = impulse buys that are not in the budget

❌ Unexpected things to pay for that you forget about or came up last minute

But the best thing to do is to try out yourself in the best position to support the habit of spending less than you earn:

✨Creating a budget that works for you

✨Separating your bills money from your spending money

✨Working on your money mindset and practising mindful spending

✨Make sure you’re focusing on building your emergency fund as best as you can

What things do you do to make sure you live within your means?

💡Tips on how to always be financially stable - PART TWO⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Following on from my 6 top tips, I am going to dive deeper into each one and number two is learning to LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS💰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ You need to spend less than what you earn. It sounds simple but many factors can complicate this calculation... maybe your fixed expenses are too high, you have a low income, you get paid weekly and get confused by monthly bills⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The best thing to do is...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣Create a monthly budget - I am all about the budgeting because it is the most helpful tool to manage your money. There is another post coming next that explains ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
how to create a budget to help you live within your means...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(Also to download my free monthly budget planner, tap on the link in my bio!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣Track your expenses. You need to know how much it costs to BE YOU. How much do you spend on groceries, travel, and eating out. Where do you spend most money, least money? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
By tracking where and how you spend your money, you can make sure you are only spending money on the things you can actually afford⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣Practice mindful spending - a personal fav of mine. Check in with yourself, why are you making a purchase, ask yourself the questions to make sure what you are buying aligns not only with your financial goals but also with the money you have available to you!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here is a little Sunday night reminder that if you do not take control of your money, your money will take control of you ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰This is why creating a budget plan or spending plan is so helpful💰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you give every £1 a job, whether you assign it to your bills, to your savings, or to eating dinner out, YOU are always the one in the driver seat getting to choose🤩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Otherwise you find yourself in the back of the car with the money at the steering wheel... sounds kind of scary😰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is far too easy for money to slip through your fingers when you are not paying attention and to look back at a period of time and be like "ERM where the hell did all ma money go?"🤔⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if you have debt to clear or you are not happy with your financial situation at the moment, taking control can really help to start reduce your financial worries⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨It is a step in the right direction✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Taking control can be small, easy steps - doesnt have to be huge steps...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
E.g. do not stress about trying your debt with one month’s paycheck but start by making one affordable payment⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

MONDAY MONEY AFFIRMATION⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"I release all negative energy over money"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The way you handle your finances is largely impacted by the way you think and feel about money (your money story, your beliefs and your mindset, your relationship to money etc.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is a great affirmation to start a mindset shift from a negative way of thinking⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I'm not going to lie to you here... you cannot wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, say this affirmation and think all the hard work is done (as lovely as that would be)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Affirmations are tools to help us shift our beliefs (like how budgeting is a tool to help manage your money) but they are one piece of the puzzle, not the whole puzzle⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Affirmations alone won't miraculously make you better with money or more comfortable with your finances BUT they are an incredible (and free) way of making a change⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💡Tips on how to always be financially stable - PART ONE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨I created a post a few days go with 6 top tips and I am going to dive deeper into each one to help you implement them into your life✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Number one for me is having an EMERGENCY FUND💰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know this is not the fun and shiny option like saving for future goals or investing to make more money. No one wants to be working hard to put money away to potentially have to spend it on boring stuff - I absolutely get that!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BUT try to reframe the way you view it⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👩🏼‍💻 If you go to work, and you work hard for your money and you want to be able to enjoy it, try to see saving for an emergency fund as a way of you paying yourself for your hard work. You are paying for a piece of mind should anything go wrong and that is priceless...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰The more in your emergency fund, the more security you have and that really helps when it comes to reducing financial worries⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣Set a goal of how much you want to aim for. 3-6 months worth of living expenses is ideal (costs for the necessities of what you need to live and pay the bills etc.)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣Automate the payments every month so you don't even need to think about it - it just happens⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣Save money into a separate bank account so it doesn't get mixed up with your normal money or your bills money for the month⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣The number you are aiming for can be overwhelming if you are starting from £0. But everyone has to start somewhere, and it will be worth it⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨YOU GOT THIS✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

6 ways to always be financially stable⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Emergency fund⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Having cash available to access for an emergency is important. It helps reduce financial worries and means you're less likely to get into debt if anything bad happened⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Live within your means⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Budgeting is an incredibly useful tool to help you manage money - it allows you to work out what money you have coming vs what money you have going out. You decide where your money goes instead saying "where did all ma money go?" at the month end⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Eliminate debt⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it comes to debt (e.g. an overdraft or a loan), work out how much you owe and create a strategy to clear it using a method that works for you. You can use the Snowball or the Avalanche Method - both are really great options⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Multiple income streams⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Find ways to diversify your income streams - if all of your money comes in from one source, then all of your eggs are in one basket. Side hustles are not for everyone, so don't feel pressure to get one but it is worth considering ways to make extra income!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Prioritise savings goals⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you get paid, allocate and move money into your savings accounts first, then spend what is left over. If you try to spend first and save what is leftover... you never have anything left to save!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💰Learn about investing⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wish I had learnt about investing sooner - compound interest is amazing but it is all about time, so the sooner you start the better. You will not regret it!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✨MONDAY MONEY AFFIRMATION✨

"My actions are aligned with my financial goals"

A few weeks ago, I posted about there being 100 days left of 2020 (and now there is only 82 days til Xmas 🎅 - crazy) and I said how it is the perfect time to review your financial goals

🌟 Is there anything new you want to achieve?
🌟 Are there any goal you are still working on?
🌟 Which goals do you need to update?

To stay on track and stay motivated, we need to make sure our daily actions are aligned with those goals because sometimes we do things that take us further away from them (without even realising!)

This affirmation helps you acknowledge areas where your actions might NOT be aligned:

🤚🏼This could be pausing and taking extra time to think about a purchase before we make it (impulse buys get much easier to make the closer we get to Xmas)

🙅🏼‍♀️Or checking in with ourselves to make sure we are not self-sabotaging our financial progress (this is common when you are changing your relationship with money)

Whether it is your spending habits, the amount of time you put aside to work on your budget, not looking in your bank account, dipping into savings for purchases you don’t care about... all these things make a difference

It is not easy just to ‘stop’ doing these things but the first step is to know that these actions could be damaging and then taking small steps to change them✨
